Don't Know What Major to Choose?

Updated: Nov 26, 2019

College Applications now ask you to declare a major at the beginning of your forms. They're trying to make certain that they don't accept too many students.

However, you may not know what you want to do for the rest of your life when you're 18. That's completely normal. Take the following three steps to narrow down your choices.

Step #1 - Take multiple aptitude tests. Below is a list that come recommended to take every year that you're in high school. Your interests will change as you mature. Print out your results and discuss them with your friends and family.

ASVAB- Recommended for Sophomores, Juniors, or Seniors - Ask Counseling Office for tests dates and registration information. Free test, US Military branches do not contact you about scores and recruitment unless you wish for them to do so declared in your registration and testing paperwork.

Step #2 - Familiarize yourself with what you definitely don't want to do. Take the below links of three Texas Colleges and their of majors and cross off ones that you know for sure you are not interested in.

*Notice similarities from school to school. Some offer different majors and lack others.
