Grants are similar to scholarships by offering amounts that do not have to be paid back. Loans need to be paid back. The loans will have a potion owed by the guardians and the rest owed by the students after their college graduation.
The amount of money depends on your family's financial need. The maximum amount of grant money offered per school year in 2015-2016 was $5775 for families living under $20,000. There are also exceptions made for students involved in the foster care system.
